Brief history
St. Apostle Andrew Choral Group was formed in the autumn of 2003, when its members (only four at that time) were employed as church singers at St. Andrew’s Church, Cluj-Napoca by the parish priest Petru Stanciu, professor of sacred music at the Orthodox Theological Seminary in the city.
As at its beginnings the group participated actively in the Divine Liturgy every Sunday, its members decided to adopt St. Andrew as their patron saint, thus giving the group the name of the first-called of the apostles. Later, other five members joined the group. They were graduates and students of the Faculty of Theology in Cluj. The group does not sing in the same parish church anymore, because four of its members are now clergymen serving in other churches.
